Join us for a double feature about 2 women who have transformed the skate and surf world
Hosted in partnership with Tahoe Donner and The Tahoe Donner LGBTQ+ Club we are bringing the film screening back this year with two short films focusing on two remarkable women who have made an incredible impact on the skate and surf worlds. Each is a short film which will be followed by a discussion with the filmmaker Beth O'Rourke. We'll have music and mingling before and after the show.
This year we're presenting:
Timeless Areas (an anagram of “Elissa Steamer”) is a short documentary film that about Elissa Steamer an American professional street skater who is the first woman to attain professional status in the history of skateboarding.
Waves of Disruption: The Cori Schumacher Story, is about three-time Women’s World Longboard champion, politician, activist, writer, and speaker.
This year's films will be geared to a more adult audience but remains open for all ages with the same relaxed community centered atmosphere from last year. This is a free event and tickets are suggested for capacity reasons.
