Truckee’s 3rd Annual PRIDE WEEK Announced for May 30 – June 7 2026 Call for Event Submissions & Tickets Go On Sale April 2 for Arc'teryx Sponsored DJ Dance Party
TRUCKEE, CA March 31, 2026 — Truckee Pride, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, announces the 3rd Annual Truckee Pride Week for May 30-June 7, 2026. This year’s celebration features over 25 events designed to connect neighbors, families and friends in celebration of our community’s diversity.
“I am so proud of how strong we are as a welcoming town for everyone who calls Truckee home. Truckee Pride Week creates so many fun ways to celebrate our town's diversity, together. ” said Truckee Mayor Anna Klovstad.”
In 2025, the week drew approximately 2,000 participants. Notably, 75% of attendees and many organizers identify as straight and cisgender, emphasizing that Truckee Pride Week is a time for everyone, LGBTQ+ and the entire community, to have fun and connect around common values of belonging and diversity.

Beyond the celebration, Truckee Pride Week serves as a critical economic bridge the first week of June. “Pride Week is a perfect example of how shoulder season events support jobs, restaurants and small businesses during a slow time of year.” said Jessica Penman, CEO/President of the Truckee Chamber of Commerce.
“Visitors who spend just one lodging night contribute $300 per day to our economy in a critically slow time of year,” added Jackie Calvert, CEO of Visit Truckee-Tahoe. The tourism authority is offering a $100 Gift Card for booking two or more lodging nights for as low as $149 per night, during Pride Week.
To help merchants promote the week’s festivities, the organization is providing in-store signage, flyers, and promotional materials. Business owners interested in displaying these materials or coordinating a delivery should contact TDMA, Chamber of Commerce, or email hello@truckeepride.org to arrange a drop-off.
How Pride Week Impacts Local LGBTQ+ Community
A 2022 Truckee-Tahoe health study* found that LGBTQ+ residents in North Lake Tahoe experience higher rates of isolation, housing insecurity, and suicide —making events like Truckee Pride Week a vital intervention by creating visible places that directly address the "lack of community connection" identified in the 2022 data. Local youth reflect on last year’s event:
“I’ve never felt so comfortable being myself in my hometown. I was shamed for wearing skirts in high school…and told to keep parts of myself hidden.”
“Pride in high school felt like we were advocating that we existed at all. There were about four of us, and we worked together to be strong. This (Pride Week) felt full circle for the coming of queerness… Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

* * The 2022 PRC Community Engagement & Behavioral Health Survey Report was a collaborative effort conducted by PRC, Inc. on behalf of several regional organizations, including the Community Collaborative of Tahoe Truckee (CCTT), which is a program of the Tahoe Truckee Community Foundation. The full report is often used by the Town of Truckee and regional nonprofits to guide "Health Equity" frameworks and housing programs aimed at supporting historically marginalized groups in the Sierra.
